Voici quelques notes grammaticales concernant le système verbal / Here are some note regarding the verbal system

The Krumen verbal system is based on aspect. There is a fundamental distinction between completive (AC) and incompletive (INAC). In addition to these two conjugations, expressing real actions, there are two conjugations, the potential (POT) and the intentional (INT), expressing virtual actions.

These four conjugations can be marked by the sequential (SEQ), and by the permansive (PERM).

The category of time/tense (past, present, future) is optionally marked by time markers (T).

Krumen is characterized by a rich system of derivational verbal affixes. These mark aspect – completive and incompletive –, as well as changes in transitivity, which is linked to the structure of the clause subject – verbe – object - adverbial (S P O A).

The derivatives*) marking change in transtivity are the following: passive (PASS) causative (CAUS), circomstancial or adverbial (CIRC), distributive (DISTR) and repetitive (REPET).

DISTR and REPET are formed by reduplication (RED) of the verb stem.

The repetitive (REPET) derivation expresses plurality of the action in space and time: the reciprocal (RECIPR) and the reiterative; it also serves to form the verbal noun (nom-v).
